Screen Saver Question

Am I going crazy but I seem to remember that during the attract mode/screensaver you could play the game if you liked it. I think you could do this back in the 9 something series. also is it possible to be able to hit ok without stopping it? this would be handy for games that come up with "Screen Flipping Is Not Supported In Cocktail Mode Hit Ok To Continue" or if you have games in Misfit Mame that you haven't played and the disclaimer pops up.

Wouldn't go as far as calling you crazy! But yes, it is still possible to play the game during the screen saver. All that is needed is to press the key you use to enter the coin. I'm my case "5". Don't have an answer to your second question at this time.

What type of input device are you using to control MAME? Also, are you referring to MAME or other emulators?

XBOX 360 wireless controller for Windows and yes Mame. I can try keyboard and see what happens. One Sec......................You can use the keyboard and it won't exit.

That at least narrows things down. Now we'll have to come up with a solution to that.

Just to chime in quick..

No matter what you have set for coin input, the only way to play a game in the screen saver is the "5" key on the keyboard. I have insert coin mapped to a different button, but if you hit 5 first you can then add the coin with your coin key and play. Hitting the 5 first is the key though.
