Hi,

Is any1 using Sega Saturn Emulators in their setup? If so which ones? Only one I could get anything out of was Yabuse.

SSF. It is your one and ONLY option, as it's a damn fine emulator. Very accurate, but requires a good amount of CPU to run properly.

The only problem is you're going to have to have GameEx mount the images in a virtual drive in order to use it. It can't load ISOs from a hard disk.

I'd go more into detail, but I have to re-do my Saturn setup actually.... but one thing is for sure... SSF is the only option for it.

I like it. I am running it on a Intel I5. However I can't get it to full screen. And also who has it running in Game Ex? I'd like to see the config file you have for it. Thanx

SSF should remember the last state it was in, well thats what mine does, so just fire it up, alt+enter for fullscreen and then press escape to exit.

My config is below, I use daemon tools to mount my images because GameEx image loader doesn't support compressed mds+mds

I think I need the contents of the .bat file. When I try to launch using Game Ex and I have four devices setup the emulator reads one of the other discs for some reason. I guess I could setup each PC game separately, I'm lazy

The batch file just loads my Xpadder profile before launching SFF then loads my default Xpadder profile after SFF closes

Stu

E:
CD E:\GameEx\Utilities\Xpadder
Xpadder.exe /M "Profiles\USP1-SSF" "profiles\USP2-SSF"

E:
CD "E:\Sega Saturn\SSF"
START /WAIT "SSF" SSF.exe

E:
CD E:\GameEx\Utilities\Xpadder
Xpadder.exe /M "Profiles\USP1-Blank" "profiles\USP2-Blank"

It's cool I setup my pc games that need disc mounting the same way so I only need one drive. Now what can I use on the Windows 7 side as I don't have a version of daemon tools that works. Will Virtual Clone Drive work like that?

I'm using Daemon Tools on Windows 7 x64 and it works perfect, I'm just using the latest free version from their site

I have a full Saturn collection actually, and SSF will not even run on my machine. I guess it's time to start building a better PC for the cab... That thing only has 1 GB of RAM and Windows XP on it. Maybe I should just get with the program, eh?

How is Yubase as far as resources go? Would I have better luck trying to run that you think?

I would think the requirements are the same. What are the specs of your machine? As far as not running on your machine, what are the details of it not running? Games just running slow? Getting errors? What? ;)

doesn't that install ads etc?

I have it running on a XP/7 dual boot machine. After using SSF you won't want to fool with Yabause. I didn't have any luck with Saturne.

No it asks if your want to install their browser tool bar but you just say no, it's just a reduced functionality version, no image conversion and limits the number of virtual drive you can have.

I try to run the SSF.EXE and it does... Nothing. Never had an issue like this before with any emulator. I know my command line arguments are accurate... It just won't do anything at all. :(

Posted

I've tried Daemon's Tools, UltraISO, and GameEx's internal Virtual Drive. All to no avail.

Is this an EXE that you can click on and it loads the GUI, or is it strictly command-line driven?

Posted

You should be seeing the GUI, there aren't any command line options for it, as far as I'm aware

It runs fine on my Laptop that has a 2Ghz Intel single core processor and 1GB of RAM & Windows XP. Granted it takes a second to start but runs fine.

I have a Tosec set of the Saturn. Is there anyway for SSF to auto detect the dang region the game is in? PAL, US and JPN games won't load if SSF isn't set up to use that system, which makes having a frontend totally useless, since you have to go into the options to change the system. Anybody have any ideas?
