Error Creating game font.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question or I'm asking the wrong crowd.

I have an ArcadeVGA PCI-E card that is giving me fits with GameEx.

For starters, I can't adjust the screen resolution of the ArcadeVGA card from 800x600 in windows. I've tried to use this card in both a WinXP (32) setup, Win7 (32) setup, and to no avail, the card will only output with the resolution 800x600. What's really odd is that card doesn't seem to be installed properly in WinXP, the system isn't happy with it, but it appears to be installed and operating properly in Win7.

The problem I get is when trying to launch GameEx I get an error stating "Error Creating game font."

Has anyone seen this problem before? I can get GameEx to launch on another PC of mine, but I need my MAME PC to use the ArcadeVGA card so I can hook up to my WG arcade monitor.

I've tried installing the ATI Catalyst drivers for the card in both systems, and all seems well with the installer software, so I'm not sure if it's not installed properly or what the problem is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This definitly sounds like the drivers are not installed properly for your AVGA card. Not sure if your aware but the cards do not use the standard Catalyst drivers, but specialisit drivers. I suggest you contact Ultimarc if you still have issues.
