Don't worry its me again but I'm not going to ask the same questions - I have posted some good feature requests but heres just a few things I need to know about Media Player and the MP3 Jukebox..

1) How do you stop a track from the GameEx menu. I only have next/prev and pause buttons at the top.

2) How do you edit your playlist - when I go into playlist through the menu all I see is the 'Like Humans Do' track and not what I am currently playing/selected.

3) Is there a way to play a track instantly (bepassing the tracklist) and does the default button press add the track to the playlist? I know this sounds dumb but without the playlist editable I want to confirm what the buttons do.

Thanks.

P.S. I have probably decided to change my MP3 Tags so that each album is displayed properly.

so what mp3 player do you use m8?

i really want my frontend to be able to use this but media player seems so slow and not 'user friendly' (for non computer freaks)

Spy,

Not dumb questions.  The Jukebox needs some usability work.  I think Tom just threw it in as a secondary app to gamelaunching.

I dont agree that I threw it together, its pretty substantial actually. As far as I know even windows Media Center does not allow you to see the playlist.

It just works a little differently from a fully functional media player, but it has to work with just arcade controls, a remote or joystick. It really is supposed to be a jukebox and not a media player. Its designed to play albums and all songs by artists, or genres, not just the odd track now and then.

You cant see the playlist, although you can clear the playlist. When the playlist is cleared the first track you select is played, anything after that is queued. Its deigned for adults, low maintenance, and background music, not for having a good session when your in the mood.

As I said its a jukebox, not a media player. Perhaps I need to write a seperate Media Player, thats how Meedio works.

Cheers.

thanks tom.

by all means i would love a media type section to the gameex, but i think you have worked hard enough thus far for me to not say we need it!

I will make do and maybe install a jukebox type media player instead for now (maybe you can have a enable disable button where we can run a different player instead from the main MP3 menu?)

Anyway, thanks again.

Yeah, some general intuitive on screen controls like play, back/forward track, now playing on screen, etc... just so the control is more intuitive.
