Is there anyway to get older versions of Game Ex? I had a bunch of stuff running in my other computer. The only emulator I could get to run correctly was Daphne. I had NullDc, ZSNES, NeoRaine, Raine, Zinc, Model 2 all running in my older machine. Copying the content from the game ex folder didn't work. So I would much rather have and older version.

I think what I am gonna end up doing is copying the Game Ex folder from my other computer. I guess Game Ex has undergone some serious changes from 9.24 to now. Hopefully if I copy and re-edit the .ini for my current drive status then update to the current version my stuff wont break hopefully.

I meant that Tom has added some great features to GameEx. I wasn't tying to put you off...

One thing that comes to mind is a menu option that has video thumbnails. It's a high horse power option made for overclocking, watercooling, quad-core guys like you. smile.gif

At least download the latest version, and take a look.

I did download the new version and I can't get anything other than Mame & Daphne to run. There oughta be a step by step guide to get emulators to work in Game Ex for half wits like me. If anyone wants to know I would like to setup the following; MisFit Mame, Raine, NeoRaine, Zsnes, Kega Fusion, NullDC, Project 64, Zinc, Model 2, The CPS3 Emulator, Virtua NES, and MESS. Also the create snaps feature seems to be broken for videos or maybe I'm doing something wrong. I also forgot to mention ePSXe & the PSX emulator

The create video snaps should be fixed now.

Also you should just be able to install the latest GamEx over your working config.

Why do you need to use an old version?

well it started with Zinc. I copied what was in the old computer to the new one in the Game Ex.ini. Zinc did not show up at all. I am also going to try to setup using the others that are in my old computer and see what I get. Can Game Ex launch PC games also? I have some game programs I wouldn't mind adding. Thanx

Probably because you didnt have all the files installed in the same place. You should just be able to copy the entire gameex folder, and your emulator folders to the same location, then just install GameEx over the top.

I guess I should have mentioned that when I copied from the older computer I did edit location of the files etc. I will double check to see if I did miss something. Like I said I was able to get Daphne running by copying from the old .ini file. I will try this for visual pinball also and others I had running in the old computer. Can Game Ex launch things like Madden, Bejeweled and the like?

ok, I have tried to get things going. The emulator names show up and the roms themselves show up but when you try to play the screen goes black for a second then it goes back to play this game. What am I doing wrong?

*UPDATE* I uninstalled the new version of Game Ex, deleted all the registry keys and installed version 9.43. I copied the Game Ex folder over from the other computer and editied to the new locations for the emulators. everything works now except for the consoles and Raine, MisFit Mame. Any help getting the rest of my stuff going to include Madden would be appreciated. Will it be ok to update now or will the update break everything?

So far as the consoles go, some of them (like psx) may have paths that you need to set in the emulator itself for things like Bios files. Try turning on debug mode for each Emu that doesn't work, and see if that gives any useful information. You could also try troubleshooting using the runitgame.bat. If you need instructions for doing that, click on my signature, and look at the tutorial on 'How to ask for help'.

Hey Tom , i think you should give us an opportunity to DL older gameex versions. I stopped completely updates since You modified something in folders [ Some folders names are rendered differently from others and i cannot access them.. ] and codecs usage [ some of my playable avi's stops playing after update from march/april* ]

* - so i reinstalled GameEx from feb'2010 and everything was working so its not the codecs problem, but GameEx

I have limited resources and allowing older versions increases support needs and hurts development. Therefore I have very limited motivation to support old versions.

If you have a problem you should report, and ill do my best to fix it.

Seeing as the project is very actively supported by the developer (me) I really don't see how anyone can have a problem with that, but if they have then I apologise but thats the way it it.
