Hi, I changed locations of my ROMS and now I am getting some wierd results. When I update my list, it finds the new ROMS and my favorites are gone, but when I turn it off, it reverts to the old list, with my old favorites. Where is the old favorite list located and how can I transfer it over and prevent Gameex from reverting back to the old list of ROMS? Thanks in advance! Dean

As far as where the data is stored.... It is stored in the DATA directory of your GameEx install. The file name is data.mdb which is a database file. I would think that your favorites should still be there since in that file I have not seen anything based on location of the roms but just the names. As far as your other issues I'm not quite sure how this would be done since I would think it should be done already. Bumping this since you haven't had a response in a few days in hopes that someone experienced in this particular issue can help.

If there is a path attached to the roms in data.mdb, you could try updating the field to include the new path. I would think Tom would point to an emulator rather than a physical drive location, so this probably won't help you.

Thanks for the bump guys...

I did open the data.mdb files and there are no paths, just as you suspected. The question is I update game list, it updates it to my new ROMS, but then somehow it my favorites are gone. Strangely, when I turn the computer off and then reboot, everything is back how it was before I updated. My favorites are intact, but the new ROMS are nowhere to be found.

What happens when you update games? Is there another database that gets built? What does gameex do during that operation?

Thanks!

Are you talking about MAME or other systems? MAME is the only emulator that needs the update, so I assume that's what you are asking about.

Yes, Mame. I just updated my MAME to .137 and updated the corresponding ROMS.

This error seems to have been fixed with the updated version... Thanks!

I am having trouble getting games from emulators other than MAME to show up in my favorites list. I was wondering if this is something that only works for MAME games.

Has anyone else had this trouble or know how to fix this problem?

I should work for all emulators. You have to have the game info screen for each emu enabled to add the games.

i think i know the solution to this one.

are most of your games merged? if i have more than one rom in a .zip or .7z file they never seem to show up in 'favorites' or 'last played'

pretty sure tom knows about this one.

I'm not exactly sure how to find the info screen for each emu. Is this something that is in the GameEx application or in the configuration? I looked in both places for something called the emu info page and didn't see anything. I could be overlooking something or misunderstanding exactly what you are referring to.

My roms aren't merged. They are individually Zipped files.

I figured I should give a little more background on the exact problem I am having. For example, I navigated to the CPS-3 Emulater under the emulated games menu. I went to a specific rom I wanted to add to my favorites. When I navigated into that individual roms info page I clicked the button labeled "Add to favorites list." That button then changed to "Remove from favorites list." When I navigate back to the GameEx opening menu I click on favorites and nothing is there except for games that have been added from MAME. It doesn't seem to recognize any Non-MAME roms as far as adding them to the favorites list. The games launch just fine and everything and I double checked that GameEx is pointing to the correct file path for the roms and such. So, I'm not exactly sure if there is some setting or something that is preventing me from doing this.

Anyway, I appreciate your guys' input. Hopefully this background gives you a little more insight to the problem I am having.

Does the problem exist in the latest version? There is nothing I can duplicate here.

Yes. I believe it is the latest version because I have auto-update enabled and I know it has recently updated GameEx.
