So, if Win98 is no longer supported, do you plan to offer a legacy version for download that will work? While I don't use anything that ancient, if someone that is a registered user tries to upgrade and things stop working, they should have a way to get it going again (short of buying a new PC). Perhaps there could be a check in GameEx that doesn't allow installation on Win98 systems (and any others that have the same problem)?

Posted

Basically no. Yourll read more in the release notes for the next version available in a minute.

But I dont provide old versions of the software. Thats always been the case, and its not going to be possible to support windows 98 going forward.

Its just too old now. Windows 2000 still works if users want to migrate without buying a new pc.

Which version does work with win 98 / since when do you use visual studio 2008?

Anyway thanks for the help, very good support for gameex

Its difficult to know as obviously I rarely test GameEx with such an old OS. I only upgraded to Visual Studio 2008 within the last couple of months, but whether previous versions worked well with windows 98 I dont know. Its quite possible there could be issues.

I've tried version 9.90. The emulator starts, but it disappears after 5 seconds or so in the background and you see gameex again.

When you exit gameex the emulator is opened and you can play the game. Can i fix this problem somehow?
