I've been having a problem with GameEx and MAME. I recently downloaded GameEX (about a week ago) and every time I try to run an arcade game through MAME (say, 1942), it flashes a black screen with the [LOADING: 0%] graphic on it, then kicks me back to GameEx.

I can run MAME fine without GameEx (same version), and I've disabled the Use Bezel option, which did nothing to help. Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: For some clarification, I'm running Windows 7 Professional.

I've been having a problem with GameEx and MAME. I recently downloaded GameEX (about a week ago) and every time I try to run an arcade game through MAME (say, 1942), it flashes a black screen with the [LOADING: 0%] graphic on it, then kicks me back to GameEx.

I can run MAME fine without GameEx (same version), and I've disabled the Use Bezel option, which did nothing to help. Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: For some clarification, I'm running Windows 7 Professional.

I am experiencing exactly the same problem, dowloaded Gameex just over a week ago, am running Vista, but when I run mame - Play this game, it flashes loading 0%, then goes back to Gameex - play this game, I have also disabled the Use Bezel Option, some games are working such as Afterburner, Rastan, but the majority (eg Gradius) are automatically going back to the Gameex screen and showing I have played the game? Would be grateful if someone knew a solution? I am not using a mapped network drive?

Run your runitgame.bat and see if you have any errors. Help on how to do so has been posted here by Tempest.

Frequency had asked you to RUN the bat file.

Open the file, and add 'Pause' to the end of it like this:

C:
CD "C:\Emulators\MAME"

mame.exe gradius -rompath "C:\Roms\MAME\Roms"
pause

Save the file, and then run it by double-clicking on it.

The command window will remain open, and possibly tell you what the problem is.

If you don't understand what it says, then post the results.
