can the registered version's 'virtualdrive' mount .nrg?s

and if not, what's the most convenient way to convert an .nrg image file to .iso?

edit: i'm trying to set up the SSF saturn emulator but i've hit some snags. i've converted the .nrg file into a functioning .iso, but it still isn't working. i think i must be missing a step in terms of the built in gameex 'virtual drive' system. do i need to tell the specific emulator which disk drive to use? in which case, do i need to have the 'virtual drive' already enabled in order to give the emulator the correct info before i load gameex? the .log file mentions near the bottom that it's "Unable to mount ISO. Did you install ISO Support when installing GameEx?" is this a feature found in the advanced setup utility? or do i need to run the original install file and look for it? here's some info.

command line : SSF.exe[-VIRTUALDRIVE-]

edit: i've made some progress. realized i needed to re-download the install file to get the iso support, but it's still not mounting the images automatically. i need to mount them in the 'clonedrive' myself through windows or SSF reports that the drive is empty.

edit: i think i've concluded that it cannot indeed mount .nrg files.

edit final: YUP! don't use .nrg. use magiciso or something else to convert to iso. i'd delete this thread if i could.

edit nevermind: nope! as it turns out, when i mount the converted .iso file either in daemon tools or the gameex iso program i can't get past the opening cutscene. now it's a real shame that virtual clone drive can't mount .nrg's, as that seems to be the only format that ssf likes. oh well. i guess i'll experiment around with different methods of converting .nrgs to .iso. OR is it at all possible to use daemon tools as the 'virtual drive' feature of gameex? i'm not exactly sure what that would entail.

edit: ok. i think i've figured out how to use daemontools instead of virtual clone drive for image mounting, i just haven't been able to get it to work.

i found out that the standard command line for mounting something in daemontools is something along the likes of dtlite.exe" -mount 0,"[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

i've gotten it to work from a command line, but i can't seem to be able to integrate this into the ssf launch settings. here's what it looks like.

Command Line SSF.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\dtlite.exe" -mount 0,"[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

everything theoretically checks out, yet daemon tools isn't mounting like it does when i simply use the command line.

any ideas?

edit forever: OOP! EUREKA! got it working. all i had to do was add a spare quotation mark somewhere and move the "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\dtlite.exe" -mount 0,"[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" bit to LAUNCH BEFORE. now deaemon tools can mount any image i want.

man this is a great program.
