Creating a Batch File

Hello. Can someone help me create just one batch file for a rom that only starts the game when you're in the emulator. What I mean is, I installed a neogeo only emulator that once you start the application you have a list of games that are there but the highlighted ones is what you actually have... i guess similar to mame. but i had to create this as a emulator in gameex's advance config. I tried creating this like i would with an snes or genesis, but i keep returning back to GameEx when i click on the rom. Help please.

What particular emulator are you running that acts like that? I have no issues running just neo-geo roms from either of the well known emulators. Not understanding the need for a batch file for a rom either. Please list the rom as well. Give all details so we can help troubleshoot.

It's a metal slug anthology emulator. I didn't have to extract any of the roms so I left them as is in the folder. It runs fine outside GameEx but when using GameEx to run the application, I am forced to return back to the GameEx. The rom is mslugx. I figured if someone could create one batch file, then i could use that as a templet and create the remaining roms. There all metal slugs: mslugx, mslug2, mslug3, mslug4, mslug4plus, mslug5, & mslug5plus.

thats the exact name of the emulator "metal slug anthology". but no worries, i just put it on my STEAM games' library. i may just delete the whole thing because i hate having to install something like that anyway. But on a side note, i can only use EPSXe to run mortal kombat trilogy aince PSXfin doesn't work for it. Question is: how can I run the game without the folder (MKT)showing up on the virtual drive? Every time I run the game, the folder pops up. Yes, I am trying to run it in GameEx. Thanks

How do I disable autorun? Not only that but how did you configure epsxe 1.70 to work with Mortal Kombat Trilogy? I keep getting this: ePSXe: [R:\Games\Playstation\Games\Mortal Kombat Trilogy.bin] is not a EXE file.

nevermind, I got it to work. I had -nogui "[RomPath]\[RomFile]". I simply took off the "[RomPath]\[RomFile]" and disable the autorun thanks to vsilvalopes.

Update: Well I did get epsxe to work but the sound was going bonkers like nails on a chalkboard. I found a threat where I had to change epsxe.exe -nogui to epsxe.exe -nogui -loadbin "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" and everything is good to go.

kase the Metal Slug Anthology is NEORageX emu the .exe is justed renaned you cant run it form a cmd line so running in gameex or batch file is out if iam not mistaking maybe with a wrapper but not shore, you can use Winkawaks emu just copy your roms over and the neo geo.zip witch gos in the rom folder to or you can use mame

dreamer, i tried Kawaks 1.59 and it doesn't work (missing files). i did exactly what you said by just carrying over the roms and the zip folder, a no-go. i even tried the newest mame i believe mame 136, and that didn't work either saying i am missing files. the second thing I tried was extracting all the roms and that didn't work either. this is very frustrating but thanks anyway. oh and fRequEnCy, i am sorry i wasn't more accurate with the name of the emulator. i should of did more research then got back to you but my mind was too much on trying to run the roms in gameex instead of the NEORageX emu.

There was a change in MAME as far as the NeoGeo roms recently. The change moved some files in or out of the individual game zip files (don't remember exactly). As a result, you probably will have to use a different rom set from the standard MAME set for Kawaks unless they have aligned themselves with MAME. Just a thought.

Ahhh ok. Figured it was something else as I've never heard of the one you mentioned.

As far as that emulator, I am unable to run under my system. Perhaps a Windows 7 thing. Are you running XP? The reason your roms won't work for the other emulators is because each emulator has their own romset. Sometimes the same roms can be used between Arcade systems but always best to have the required romset for that emulator. So either rebuild your set to those systems or give me time to test on an other system for the requirements of NEORageX.

kase i just tested it out on winkawaks1.59 and it work for me this mite be the problem i sad put it in the rom folder it all goes in the rom\neogeo folder the neo geo.zip is your bios, that error u got is when it cant find the bios make shore roms and the bios are in the neo geo folder (sorry for the mix up)

fRequEnCy must be right i test metel slug x an 2 they worked sorry the other five roms didn't sorry for that should of tested it more complently

it still didnt work i have NEORageX 5.0 (if the 5.0 means anything). I am trying to run this on a Vista Ultimate but no prevail. It's all good though. I downloaded Metal Slug PC which has Metal Slug 6. I put that one under my STEAM library just like the former before deletion. Granted it doesn't have 4 & 5 Plus but I don't really care... anymore. I'm just getting tired of downloading several Metal Slug along with emus just to get something going.

Thanks for everything! LONGLIVE GAMEEX! by the way, is anyone running GameEx on their TV or HDTV? I waiting for s-video cord to come in the mail and will connect my PC to my TV to play my games.
