[RESOLVED] Yet another "No games found" problems

Brand new to GameEx - trying to get up to speed.

When I select Mame, it simply brings up an empty screen and "No games found". I've definitely configured the roms directory correctly. Not sure where to go from here. There are several directories that it can find that are (AFAIK), not critical to the running of Mame, such as the artwork path, the instructions path, etc.

A quick check in the forum history shows that the problem might lie with a bad or old version of MAME.

You could back up your mame.exe and try the latest binary http://mamedev.org/release.html .

I can highly recommend compiling your own version with this app http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=4375 which enables high score saving among other things.

Other than that, make sure there's nothing wacky in configuration / advanced MAME settings.

I'm using version 0.136. Downloaded it a couple weeks ago, so I don't think that's the issue.

I'm surprised that the log file wouldn't mention having a problem running mame.exe.
