In the Setup wizard under Enables/Disable Features Make sure you have HIDE UPDATE LIST set to False.

Hi all

i did as phantom said in post above but it was set ok.

and it is now coming up and saying error in emulator 1 Cannot find emulator,so that will be why it does not get to

the part to update.

I have checked and checked and where it say the emulator is in config that is where i have IT but it cannot see it.

so i have deleted all mame and gameex and will set it all up again tomorrow.

I am deleting it all so i can have a clean start and try again, after i do it tomorrow and it dont start

i will come back with my log.But if it cannot find it and it is looking in the right place what then

But if it cannot find emulator then log will not matter as i know there is something else.

cheers peter

and thanks again

Are you setting Mame up as an emulator?

There are special sections just for Mame, and normally you would not set it up as an emulator.

Set it up using the 'Basic Mame Settings' pages.

Hi TEMPEST yes i am setting it up as an emulator.

And what is the basic mame settings page.

cheers peter

I HAVE DONE IT THE ADVANCE WAY.

AND THE BASIC WAY AS IT SHOWS IN EASY WAY.

And when you get to where it says setup mame and thats what i did.

Idid not try to set up any other emulator except mame and no themes until i got mame sorted

If you update to the latest version of GameEx, the Setup wizard will download the emulators that you choose, set up the folders, and import the emulator ini file for you. The only thing that you need to do is to put your roms (And bios files if required) into the roms folder, and it should work in GamEx. If you find that something does not work, please let us know, as this is a new feature.

I hope my question fits in this thread:

"Update List" wont show up in my menue, even I have

set "Hide update List" to false. I changed it

it to "true" and back to "false" but nothing happens.

Is there another point to consider or is my config

sort of corrupt ?

Every help is aprreciated,

greetings from germany

Update list only exists for MAME. It may be below all your other options, keep pressing down and it may appear. You can also attach your Gameex.ini

I am not using M.A.M.E. just

a few other emulators like Fusion (Megadrive).

The new roms I've put in the roms-folder

wont show up in the list. So how can I

update the gamelist ? Or should GameEx do

this automatically ?

Gameex will display any game you have in your roms folder, as long as the criteria matches your rom filter.

EG.. *.ZIP will only show zip files, if your roms are not ZIP it may not show them.

It also explains why you do not see update list.
