Two questions: XBMC, and about your rig.

My ideal situation would be to running GameEX and XBMC together; one for games, the other for TV/movies. I'm wondering if anyone else at all has tried this, or if anyone can give insight into how well GameEX or XBMC can close out/open the other.

Additionally, I'm also wondering what kind of rig most people are running. I'm looking to set this up on an HDTV, and I know enough basics to put a PC together, but I really don't know what kind of benchmarks I'm shooting for, since my computer is ancient.

You should be able to setup XBMC as an "External Application" in GameEx.

You would want to exit xbmc to get back to GameEx otherwise you will be launching another instance of GX.

There was a thread over at BYOAC forums just last week where someone was talking about this exact setup. I can't remember where the thread is, but the person who set up his system that way was willing to help one other person who asked. Perhaps you could see if they could elaborate.

If you are just looking to get it working, the other thread isn't needed as HK and others will be able to help you get it going just fine. But, if you have special configs you want to do in XBMC then other users might be a good resourse.
