We really need to be able to disable that fading effect in the new version of GameEx as it is very jerky at least on my system and I don't want that option at all in my default theme.

I hate to say it, but he's right.... It's painfully slow and not needed. Where can it be turned it off?

EDIT: I looked everywhere. There seems to be absolutely no way to remove the fade transition... and I don't know about anybody else... but for me it has GOT to go. The transition is very very slow, not to mention the screen becomes blurry, distorted, and ugly. Tom, please try to fix this as soon as you can, I hate to sound unapreciative but this new feature does not work.

I know and I'm very dissapointed with this version right now and I looked all over to find how to disable it and there isn't an option that I see and noway to go back to 10.31 either.

I was able to get older version of GameEx 10.27 installed but does anyone have the 10.31 installer so I can restore my system to the last known good version of GameEx. I deleted my GameEx 10.31 installer with 10.32 version which I know better than to do that again. Unless Tom fixes that fading issue I won't be upgrading.

Guys, regressions (if you want to call it that) happen. Tom will fix this, or add an option to disable. Generally speaking we do not post older versions of Gameex here. If developers took the stance of (just go back to an older version) there would be less incentive to fix issues on current builds.

Gameex has come a long way in the years that I have been a member, we are always looking forward, never back.

Now I realize you guys are upset, please understand things happen, usually updates go really well, and are very well received. I wouldn't let this sour your feeling on auto updating, as far as keeping old versions is concerned, to each thier own. Personally I keep them.

I have 10.31 and I feel like if I upload it, Tom will just have a fix for it tomorrow anyways so there may not be any point.

Lets not get too excited here, MAME breaks things all the time.

I'm sure this will be sorted soon

Ive removed the feature completely in 10.33. It will be availabled in about 15 minutes.

Tom,

I'd like you to know that I really liked the feature, it added a bit extra for me. Hopefully in 10.34 you will bring it back with an option to enable and disable. It worked very well on my system.

Thanks for all your hard work.

On a side note I have just finished uploading the re-zipped emulators and am awaiting Bens response to an email. Testing should be starting soon.

Honestly, I do very much appreciate the update. Please believe me, it took about 3-4 seconds between lists, while the graphics became very distorted.

I didn't mean to sound like an ass, or upset anybody. Thank you very much.

No worries, I was not upset. GameEx is heavily based on user feedback, and if somethings wrong I like to fix it.

I can appreciate the premise, normally with my system (I7, 6 GB with an ATI 4850) things worked pretty quickly, I was trying to figure out whether or not it was my background in my theme since it is a 1920 by 1080 PNG. But it was a little herky-jerky on load up on just about any theme I tried. I'm sure it has to be a setting issue, but anyway as a proud registered user of this great interface I appreciate all the efforts Tom goes through to bring it to us.

Thanks for the update Tom!

I wasn't upset (Brian) as I knew if I posted about the issue (Tom) would fix it as he always does. Sometimes it might take a little while that is why I asked for a older version as in it's current state it was very bad and I use GameEx everyday on my system so that is why I wanted to go back to 10.31 however I will make backups before updating for now on as you never know what can happen.

Not being funny, but less than a day by software standards is pretty exceptional if I do say so myself :)

Sheesh, if one more hour would have passed I was about to post 10.31. Talk about slow.

LOL

As always, great customer service. 3 versions in 3 days. F*ck the bandwidth.

What are we waiting on? All I need is the updated spreadsheet and the downloads moved to SetupWizard\Emulators\Download on the FTP and we're ready to test. I just need to generate the profiles again.

I had finals due, I turned them in on Sunday. It is Monday at 3:18 pm now. I will work on this more when I get home.

I wish I had more time in the day. :)

EDIT: The emulators are renamed, uploading to the download directory now.

Next I will update the URLs on the spread sheet.

Edit2: All emus are uploaded, spreadsheet emailed.

Lets get this party started!
