AUTO UPDATE WONT UPDATE

Hiya, just switched on my cab, got the pop up to say there was a new version. Confirmed i wanted to download it, screen goes to gameex download page says downloading, then screen goes black and gameex restarts asking if I want to download the update again???

Any ideas whats wrong?

Best bet is to go to GameEx.com, download it yourself, and install it over the top of your existing folder.

I'm a bity wary of doing that as once before I lost all my settings and it took me ages to redo it all. It has been working perfectly on all the previous updates.

if you backup your gameex config file you shoud be able to revert to the previous state even if everything gets overwritten by the update (never had this problem though)

and the data.mdb file. Personally, I would just backup the whole folder if your worried.

Just for your info, all the auto update does is exactly the same thing as doing it manually, it just automates the download and runs setup.exe. There is no difference.

I had the a lot of issues when I switched the gamex login to running as a non-admin. I granted specific permissions to the account and have everything working correctly except the auto update. I cant find what the permissions failure is on it. Do you run on a non admin account?

Working now. Thanks for the quick fix Tom. This is the reason I switched from MaximusArcade to GameEx. "Support" Something that was seriously lacking on Maximus Arcade.
