celly Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I decided to update GameEx with my key and finally add some video snaps to MAME and a few emulators. My intro video isn't working at all and none of the MAME videos show. I have the latest DirectX and also FFDshow. I've been racking my brain for a bit now and can't figure it out. Maybe some fresh eyes on it can help me.
headkaze Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Can you try uninstalling ffdshow and then installing the Vista Codec Pack?
celly Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 Can you try uninstalling ffdshow and then installing the Vista Codec Pack?Ok, I'll try that.EDIT: That didn't work. I'll keep tinking around with it.
Circo Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Ok, I'll try that.EDIT: That didn't work. I'll keep tinking around with it.I am going to take a random stab in the dark here, did you get flv or avi videos? FLV's are primarily for hyperspin and the avi's work best with GameEx and others.

Tom Speirs Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 This can happen when GameEx is not installed. ie the files are just moved from one machine to another.

I have 2.0 framework. From what I found Microsoft, had a patch for a similar error message but I don't use and or run the programs that the patch was initially for. This can happen when GameEx is not installed. ie the files are just moved from one machine to another.I never moved the files. This was the initial cpu I used for all my MAME and gaming. This is the first system I ran GameEx on.

I would just try installing GameEx again over your existing installation, and see if that works.

celly Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 Also your GameEx version is a little out of date now.Thats whats also odd, I have GameEx 10.28. Thats what I updated to even though the log says 10.10. Freakin wierd. I'll uninstall GameEx (after backing it all up) and reinstall the latest version and see if it works.

Which probably makes my initial solution valid.Dont bother uninstalling just install the latest version to the correct location.

Turns out GameEx was installed twice on the system somehow. I removed both the old version and the new and reinstalled everything from scratch. Runs like a champ now, intro video starts and video snaps play. Yay! Thanks for your help.
