Like Tempest, I have not updated any of my cabinets for some time. I am now updating my cafe unit, and realized that I needed to be on the net to load GameEx. Is this the case, or am I doing something wrong. I don't remember having to be connected to load GameEx, download the themes and stuff, yes, but not to load it.

Can I avoid this... other option is to buy a cheap USB wireless NIC.

Thanks,

IMB

I just installed gameex on a new pc, I disconnected from the internet and it worked fine. Can you post your log?

Basically, it's a clean HD with a fresh XP SP2 install, and nothing else is on the PC. Just GameEx and MAME. I pulled down the latest GameEx version, and simply ran the setup as always. It asked for the .Net files, which I installed direct from M$ off files on my thumbdrive. So I figured I was good. I have no clue what could be wrong... am I missing anything in the O/S, maybe I should run a CAT 5 cable to the cabinet and allow it to update to SP3? I'll try to post the log tonight if I have time... which one do you need?

Thanks as always

Well, there is no log as the setup program did not reach a point where it created one... very strange.

All the things are unchecked at setup? Hmmm... Im not sure what the issue is, can you post a screenshot of where it gets stuck?

Sure thing, I'm going to bring home my tools from work, make a cable and satisfy what it's looking for. It happens before there is any chance to select anything in any setup. It asks for it right where it used to fail looking for the .Net files. Maybe it's a bad download, but either way... #1 hook-up cable #2 new downloaded file #3 pray #4 post results here... ;)

Thanks Brian.
