ESC Key closes GameEx?

I use a MCE remote when I am using GameEx from a distance on my big screen LCD... but when I use it on my monitor, I use the keyboard instead. Any time I hit the ESC key, anywhere in GameEx, it totally closes the program. Is that the default behavior? It didn't seem that way when I first installed it. How do I navigate back out of different sections, if I can't use the ESC key? (besides hitting the home button)

To disable the escape key, set Enable/Disable Features (2) > Disable Escape Key to yes.

Backspace is normally used to go back, but that is configurable too: Input Settings (1) > Enable Custom Keyboard Controls
