Ya, while I have not had problem with inserting coins, I have had problems with the emulator randomly crashing. That puts me off from writing a naomi loader. I use Makaron from naomi emulation and it works very well.

In regards to the other loader I cannot see why it wouldn't work with gameex, unless it was sabotaged to not work with gameex. EG looks for the gameex process and fails to run. I believe it is authored by a user named nologic. So I wouldn't put it past him.

I will look into the Demul side of naomi, It should be fairly straight forward. Can anyone tell me why Demul is better than makaron? Or NullDC both emulators already work in gameex and are quite compatable.

I've never been able to get Makaron figured out, or get NullDC(naomi)working, (I have NullDC dreamcast working fine) so that's why I've been using Demul. Plus Demul uses MAME roms, I don't believe either Makaron or NullDC-Naomi support anything other than iso's.

Makaron supports decryped roms, in BIN format typically, there are tutorials that explain how to use CHDMAN mame utility to decrypt them. NullDC also supprts decrypted games and needs a LST file typically, the LST file is typically a file that tells the emulator what to load in what order to launch the game.

Does Demul lock up randomly for you?

Demul hasn't locked up on me yet. Sometimes I lose the sound after playing a game for an extended time, and the credits don't always work right either.

I will check out CHDMAN, thanks!

Since Demul 0.5.5 came out I don't think there is much between it and Makaron T12.

Doesn't Makaron only support GD-Rom based games though? where Demul supports Cart-Based Games and Naomi 2 Games as well.

I've uploaded the Compatabilty.txt I got with Demul 0.5.5 and it does crash when playing an unsupported game, other than Power Stone 2 for some reason.

Don't think Makaron has NVram support like Demul does either, (please put me right if it does) but I couldn't find a way to save items in Test Mode with Makaron,

meaning that everytime a game had to have Cab Players or Screen Orientation changed to work I had to go to the test menu first to change it, which wasn't ideal for a cab.

Sorry for the bump. But has anyone gotten this working with the latest version of Demul? I'm trying to setup Atomiswave in GameEx with no luck :(.

It just loads a black screen. But if I run "run last game.bat" it loads up Demul but that's it.

I'm not sure this loader is required any more since the newer versions support the command-line now as mentioned with the loader and also here in the user submission thread. I don't have this emulator setup so I will give more support if you can't get it going.

Ah cool thanks for the input! I tried this command "demul.exe -run=atomiswave -rom=[ROM]" but it still loads with a black screen inside GameEx. When using the "run last.bat" it opens up Demul that's it :o

Try

demul.exe -run=atomiswave -rom=[ROM]

or

demul.exe -run=atomiswave -rom="[ROM]"

Having the whole command quoted may be the issue

Thanks Brian!

I tried both of those and still no luck.

Wonder what could be the issue?

You do have the rom path set in the emulator itself, correct?

I did check and the path was blank so I put in the path but still getting the same thing. Very strange as it works outside of GameEx perfectly. Must be the command line.

Also the roms path is uppercased. Would this cause it?

Well that explains the rom not loading. LOL. The command-line is fine. The roms path is uppercased where? I've just tested from the command-line and it runs fine for me. Please post your Demul.ini file so I can have a look see.

It's most likely something on my end lol. But sure here's the ini unless you were referring a GameEx one?

No. That is the correct file and the one I was asking for. It looks fine as far as your paths now. Even though you have it listed twice which is unneeded. Now where is it being uppercased? I ask this cuz it's possible this emulator is particular about the casing which may be your problem. If not then the next thing will be to do is troubleshoot from command-line. If you want real time support, you can hit me up in the chat room so you don't post back and forth till we find a solution.

Ah ok just making sure. About the uppercase I actually changed it to lower case hence the reason it not showing in the ini lol. Sure chat room would be better! I'll pop in there now.

We figured out what the problem was. Turns out my version of Demul was 0.5.5 and not 0.5.6. 0.5.6 supports command lines. And 0.5.5 doesn't. After downloading the latest version everything worked! Hope this helps someone in the future :)

Glad we got it figured out. LOL. I wish I would have thought to look at the version before all that. ;)
