Ok so, first off i hacked 2 madcats 360 controllers for my control panel. ill skip the details for now as to why i chose this set up. in anycase. these controllers have a POV Hat for the analog up down left and right (d-pad). so i went and used joy to key to map the POV hats to their respective directions, now comes the wierd part. it seems that when i am in gameex there is a preset configuration for the joysticks. IE button 2 (Y on 360 controller) is set to select whatever is highlited. button 5 (B on 360 controller) is set to back.

anyway all i want to do is make button 4 be select and 5 be back. i tried going through the configuration in gameex but it is a text file and i guess i just didnt get what the hell i was suposed to do haha. i figured that there would be some sort of UI to configure the controls for gameex i guess and im at a loss i dont know what to do to configure the buttons and what not.

If anyone cares i desided to go with these madcats controlers because A they are cheap B i also have my 360 set up in my cab so i can play SF4, KOF12 and blazblue (amongst others) and i wanted native support.

This is how i have my control panel wired. its the standard SF2 set up

There's a donate/buy now button on Gameex.net or Gameex.com, It goes to Tom Speirs of Spesoft.

Happy Gaming.

yeah i tried the setup wizard, it doesn't like the POV pots for the up down left and right. i guess ill still have to use J2K for those but at least i can configure the rest of the buttons. thanks allot guys! how long does it typically take to get your registration key?

I was pretty sure Tom updated the Setup Wizard so you could map the hat switch, but maybe that's different than the POV? Anyway, it should work but if it doesn't then perhaps Tom needs to take a quick look at it.

I don't believe that Tom is using anything automatic for registrations, so I suspect he will have to see your confirmation and then manually send you the file. If so, it should be pretty quick but not instantaneous.

Btw, if you are going to use a Joystick->Key stroke program, I highly recommend XPadder. I don't know if it's truly still being worked on, but the "final" version that's freely available is awesome as is! I prefer it FAR above the other options.

yeah i have xpadder, if couldn't configure the rest of the buttons through gameex i would have probably mapped them with xpadder but it seems that using xpader for just the arrows seemed unnecessary. it seems like its to bloated of a program i guess. j2k is simple and it works, and loads fast as hell. although xpadder is a bad ass program dont get me wrong. its eye candy and it works great.
