Hi guys. Im having a bit of a problem here. Im trying to create and use saves in ZSnes and GameEx. When using the emulator outside GameEx there is no problem at all, the save goes to the right directory (which is located in my ZSnes folder) and if I exit the emulator and run it again the save is there to use. Whole different story if I run the emulator through GameEx. I can use the "save state" option and load the state again but if I exit the game the save is gone... Any idea anyone or is this just something thats not possible under GameEx??

I don't know. When I set up Zsnes this was taken care of by default. I was shocked that it worked, but Zelda saved my game from session to session without me setting anything up. You might just need to have the path defined and valid for it to work.

This is a bug of sorts on how ZSNES handles saves. ZSNES writes the save file when the program is exited, not when the save file is actually modified. The problem is, by default, GameEx ends the process directly and ZSNES never writes the file. Luckily GameEx is flexible enough where this can be fixed! I'm not at my GameEx PC right now, so I dont' know the terminoligy exactly, but somewhere in the emulator setting you can change how it quits a program. You need to change it from 'End Process' to 'Press ALT+F4'. Do that and this problem you are having will be no more.

Wait, how? I can't find this 'End Process' in the emulator configure. How did you do it doggystyle?

Well, Id tell you how to do it doggystyle, but this is not the forum, lol

I know the answer to this one, because my wife & I do it doggystyle all the time...

I sit up and beg, and she rolls over, and plays dead. biggrin.gif

Damn. Spell check can only do so much.

Anyway, I figured it out. Advanced config, and all that. Thanks.
