Hello peeps,

I have a couple of roms which work fine if you run them from MameUI 64/MameUIFX GUI, but when you run them from the command line (including mame64/mameui64 and MameUIFX) it reports missing files.

all other roms work fine.

all the roms are in the same directory with no sub-directories.

any ideas?

Are all of your different builds of Mame the same version? (.132 or whatever?)

They are all .133 the gui versions load the roms but the command line does.. Quite odd. One I am having a problem with is splatter. when run through the command line it reports the following files are missing.

sh1_snd0b.bin

sh3_prg5.bin

sh3_prg6.bin

sh3_prg7.bin

Hehehe that'll teach me for updating mame :D

Since MAME UI and MAMEFX are based on the MAME core, it doesn't make sense that they would work with a different set of roms. I don't understand why that would be UNLESS you compiled your own MAME with the u updates. Otherwise, that's very confusing.

TBH I jumped from .129 to .133 so it could have stopped working with any of the updates. I will try .130 later. I have complied my own version... Just very strange it works from the GUI of Mame64 and not from the command line.

What I meant about you compiling was that you would then have different versions. I didn't mean that you didn't know what you were doing :P

Anyway, if you are running exactly the same versions and the roms are for that version of MAME, then you should be able to run the same rom on all builds. But, I guess that doesn't always work as this case seems to be showing.
