HTPC now up and running!!!

Hi guys,

Eventually got my Mystic HTPC pc up and running with XP and GameEx

(decided not to go for MCE due to not really needing the tv recording, etc.)

Just a quick few questions if anyone can help;

1) How do you speed up photo slideshow transition

2) where does it grab the background music from? is it just random (this is when

3) What files is the MAME Favs list?

4) Play DVD? I have MP10 installed, why won't it play DVD's? Is there any Codec that works/doesn't work?

5) Why is MAME list slow now since the latest version?

Also as an extra note, MAME 100 doesn't work - so i reverted back to .99 and everything is fine!!

Looking good tom - now wheres the new menu option to add stuff and remove stuff from the main menu (LOL) - I want to run my Music from front part not via Multimedia...

If your talking about the transition in terms of actual animation, all you can do is turn off trnasitions, you can change number of seconds between slides both under Multimedia/HTPC settings

Dont know what your on about here, GameEx provides no background music. Although Check your windows Media Player Library.

Its kinda complex, why do you want to know?

Me personally have it working with Nvidia, PowerDVD, and WinDVD.

No idea, what exactly is slow?

It does work, you probably need to remove some of the 'skip' settings from the CMD line.

Dont know what your on about here, GameEx provides no background music. Although Check your windows Media Player Library.

If you run GameEx on a clean install of Windows, you hear classical music from the default Windows library. People who don't use WMP as their primary media player (or never use its library capability) may very well get confused and think the classical music was something you included with GameEx. It seems really backgroundy and almost intentional.

Well thanks for the tips and that.

Although one other thing Tom - is there a way to run my own MP3 program from the MULTIMEDIA / MP3(Music) Button - in other words can I link it to another program other than Media Player?

I find Media Player unstable and I don't like the way it auto sorts the mp3s - unless anyone knows a way where I can sort them in my current FOLDER order.
