Hi, I have just bought this great program and I have a question. Is it possible to add images and videos at the same time? I want that gameex shows first a video if it exists in the folder, if it doesn't exist then use the image and if it doesn't exist do nothing. But if I copy to files with the same name, for example: Road.png and Road.avi in the same folder, the program use videos but sometimes in other games it use the image instead the video when the video exist. How can I configure folders to get order, primary VIDEO and secondary IMAGE? If it is not possible yet, I hope the developers add this option.

UPDATE: I discovered that if the video has the name "name (usa).avi, there is only one video file, if there are two images in the same folder, for example, "name (usa).png" "name (Europe, Japan).png", it shows the image instead the video when the option MERGE SETS is active. I think it is the cause, any solution? I like to merge sets, because it shows only the game name and inside there are all the versions. I hope you can help me to solve this problem.

UPDATE 2: I found a solution but I'd like to see this bug fixed in the future versions of GameEx if it's possible. My solution is to use FatMatch and create videos for all versions of the game, (Europe), (Japan), etc. When there are videos of all versions, the program uses the video instead the image with the same name. That was the problem, with merge option active, if there are images for all versions and only one video for (Usa) version (like emumovies) then it loads the image and not the video. This way, I can see images when there aren't video files.

Thanks. Francisco.

Tom will need to look into this. I bet he never even considered this problem when he created the merged sets. There are so many things to consider when creating a "simple" feature, it's amazing there are so few bugs that need attention! Thanks for reporting this and doing all the testing to figure it out. :D

Discovered this awhile back when I first started using merged set with some of my emualators. What I did was to take the one video I had and made versions for the jap or europe set and renamed them to match the rom. If I had 3 different versions of a rom in the merged set, I had three videos, all made from the origional one but renamed. Was a bit of a pain, but it was a quick fix for the problem.

What kind of merge are we talking about here? If it's the older goodmerge then the solution is simple -- run your snaps and other extras through Fatmatch. Then your extras and snaps will match the merged 7z files, and it'll always show the video first. After doing that you can also, if you like, add a set of Goodtools still snaps to the same folder and for the individual games in the 7z it'll show the appropriate pic of the hack, Japanese version, whatever, while still showing the appropriate video in the main list or on the greyed out "Play this Game" on the info page. I rather like it that way.

If it's the newer merge feature and not goodmerge then you still need to run your snaps/extras through fatmatch -- which will cause the videos to be duplicate for the different variants of the roms. It will show the videos first this way as well.

Fuzzy matching basic only works for unmerged sets, if you're merging you need make sure your extras are matching exactly.

I am using No-Intro Sets because I see it is more updated than old goodmerged, I have goodmerged sets also but not using it. With the solution of one video for each set and FatMatch it's not a problem, I can now download from emumovies FTP and then I create the videos to get it working with merge sets option.

Some questions now:

1) Is there any way to use Custommenu.ini and an option to go to menu with all emulators list automatically without to create a submenu with each emulator manually?

2) I converted my theme v1 default to v2 and now it opens in theme editor but it is possible to modify the theme to add the cover of the game in the main window? I want to see the cover and the video at the same time in different places of the screen. I don't know how to do it.

I have problems with the Theme Editor, it doesn't open default themes because they are another version then I try to create a new theme. I put a new source folder in "L:\Emuladores\GameEx\THEMES\prueba", use source size and auto version. Then it says that "You can only open Version 2 or Version 4 Themes. Creating a new theme allows you to convert it" but I am not opening a theme, I am trying to create a new one (?). Then when I click on button it creates only the MEDIA folder inside "prueba" with buttons. And finally when I try to create again the same theme I receive this exception:

I can't create new themes and I can't to modify default themes. I am using 10.18 version of GameEx. Any solution?

Thanks.
