is the easy config enough to run mame?

i have spent the last 10 hours trying to get mame to run games with ZERO progress

my problem: gameex loads all my games on to the list but when i click "play game" nothing happens. just a black screen for 3 seconds then back to the play game screen

i have read the forums and have not found anyone having the same problem

i need some help please

Try running Mame outside of GameEx first. If it doesn't work without GameEx, it won't work with it either. And if it works, try it from GameEx again.

works perfectly with "easymame" so the proplem is gameex - i have 4 other emulators running in gameex and i am puzzled why mame stoped working after i updated it

i just removed "-skip_disclaimer -skip_gameinfo -triplebuffer -nowindow -joy" from advancemame config and everything now works - thanks for your help-

You only need to remove -skip_disclaimer and -skip_gameinfo. The rest should be left there. The reason is that newer builds of mame don't have the option to skip the disclaimer screen. What happens is when you launch mame with those options an error occurs saying "unknown option" and then it closes immediately.
