 I went ahead and set everything up like I was supposed to for my Game EX program and all of a sudden, instead of taking me directly to the game it takes me to the Magic Engine menu screen. How can I stop it from doing this? I know that you have to go to the Magic Engine's configuration settings, but I don't where to go to do that. I don't want it to make a black screen on the Game EX when it starts up or show the menu for the Magic Engine. Can someone please help me out? :( I really appreciate this.

I strongly suggest using Ootake or Mednafen instead. They are both much better for emulating the PC-Engine and integrate seamlessly with GameEx.

Thats easy.

For normal games

Pce.exe "[rompath]\[romfile]"

For CD based games setup a seprate emulator.

In the run before use deamon tools to mount your game you selected off the gameex list.

In the run after:

PCE.exe Syscard3.pce (place your syscard3.pce in the same location as the emulator) The syscard3 tells magic engine to load the cd system.

In the config (pce.ini) there is a section for CDROM and you will want to configure it to look for the drive letter associated with your virtual drive.

Sorry to dig this old thread up but I having this issue and its not very clear here on how it was fixed. I also get the frontend of Magic Engine whenever I start an iso up. Anyone around that can help me? Other than that, everything works great. Thanks!

Magic Engine has never supported mounting ISOs directly: You would have to rig it to mount the ISO into a virtual drive then boot from that.

Ootake and Mednafen are far, far superior emulators for the PCE/PCE-CD anyway, and both are free.

Oh really? what does Mednafen do over Magic Engine? I mean, I'm definitely open to it. Its just that Magic Engine is all I've used and its done a great job so far. Is the commandline the same for mounting as it is with Magic Engine? And will it allow for bypassing whatever frontend Mednafen uses when mounting an iso? Thanks!
