is it possible to run stella in a native resolution with the arcadeVGA?

I can choose lowres in the videooptions, but its shown in 640 x 480. I guess thats because its scaled 2x. i cant see an option to show it in 1x size.

the same problem ive got with other emulators like mekaw or gens.

The trick is to choose emulators that can do it. For the Atari 2600 (and 5200 and 7800) I use MESS. The 2600 looks lovely in MESS with ArcadeVGA. Unfortunately for some systems it's just impossible -- like the Atari Jaguar (none of the emulators have an option for going down to a low res.)

For the Genesis/Sega CD/32X I use Fusion.

ok, i have to try mess.

i just found the expert settings in fusion and it looks much better now! only some games (like m.u.s.h.a.) are shown in 640x480.

for pc-engine games ive found the emulator ootake where you can set a special resolution for each grafik mode of the pc-engine.
