Problem with black screen after startup

I accidentally exited my GameEx the other day on my cab and when I tried to go back into it, I got a black screen just after the GameEx logo screen. Controls seem non-responsive as I do no hear the beeps moving from selection to selection. First, I thought it was due to my music database and just let the cab sit for an hour to make sure. When I came back I saw Attract Mode kicked on and showing various games. When I pushed a button, Attract Mode went away and I was staring at a black screen again. I thought possibly something might be wrong in my version, 10.06, and manually upgraded to 10.12. This did not solve the problem. I backed up my GameEx.ini and copied gameex.default.ini to GameEx.ini just in case something may be wrong in a configuration. This too did not solve the problem. I don't know what else to try. Can someone please help?

This has happened to me once before, rebooting my PC solved it.

Tried it. Didn't work. Of all the weird things, I had to reinstall my video driver.
