Hello

sorry for my poor english as I am from Germany.

Hope you will understand me anyway :-)

I have a question about the LED-Plugin for GameEx.

I am using the latest release of GameEx running on Windows XP pro ( SP3)

and there is a PACDrive from Ultimarc installed in my cabinet

which is connected to 8 buttons (4 buttons for 2 players )

In the configuration of the plugin I can address the buttons and they light up accordingly

and in the Profile Editor when I select "Favorites" and then I click on the displayed games,

the according buttons to the specific game light up.

so it all seems to work correctly

In my "default" profile for GameEx all installed LED-Buttons are set to "State = True" and "Always on = false"

Here are the two files in the Profiles folder of my LCD/LED plugin :

http://www.scirocco2.de/GameEx.ini

http://www.scirocco2.de/MAME.ini

When I start GameEx, all buttons light up, which is fine.

But when I am in the Games lists or in the game itself the according game buttons don't light up.

( neither in the Favorites nor in all games )

Some other functions are working ( e.g. different light patterns on starting and ending a game etc.)

In the game itself, the buttons all remain dark, in spite of I have removed the tick on "LEDs off when game is run"

Next issue is, that after exiting the game all buttons remain dark and will not light up again in any menu.

According to other related topics I have deleted the default.cfg

and I made sure that mame.ini is in the Mame's root folder.

Another question :

How should "Audio Attract mode" work like ?

Are there flashing buttons when playing music from the jukebox or the internet radio ?

I am asking because there happens nothing.

I have tried various settings the last two evenings but without any success.

As it seems that I can't solve this on my own, now hopefully somebody can help me.

Here are my logs and ini files :

Thank you very much in advance for your help !

The problem is clearly shown in the log file. The info being sent about the game is incorrect.

Tom: Is it possible the recent work on the plugin format has possibly caused this? The values being sent to the Plugin are clearly incorrect.

For example, selecting a game is sending the following data to the plugin:

Emulator: ""
ROMName: "C:\MAME\roms"
GameName: "MAME"

The interesting thing I tried the latest GameEx.exe you sent me the other day and it is working fine for me.

I have reinstalled the actual version of GameEx over the existing one

to have a possibly damaged program installation repaired, but it is still not working.

I think I have the same problem here. I've updated to GameEx version 10.09 and my leds stopped working.

Is the problem related to GameEx or to the plugin?

The GameEx log shows:

14:07:45.4 31.05.2009: PlugIn: "LCD/LED Plugin" caused an exception and is being disabled.
14:07:45.4 31.05.2009: Method 'GameEx.Plugin.Event_CommandLine' not found.

Yes theres definately a problem in GameEx because the Event_CommandLine method should only be sent to Version 1.40 plugins. The PlugInLCD is a Version 1.30 plugin. Hopefully Tom will fix this as soon as he gets a chance.

I cant duplicate the issue. Can you both post the full GameEx log.

Hedkaze cant duplicate it either, so Im wondering if I fixed it without realising in the latest release.

Try 10.10 available in about 20 minutes.

Hello,

Thank you for the update Tom, but the problem still persists after the update.

Here are my actual log-files :

http://www.scirocco2.de/log.txt

http://www.scirocco2.de/PluginLCD.log

Here is an obvious error message in my GameEx log file ( same error as from the othe user above ) :

21:24:15.1 31.05.2009: PlugIn: "LCD/LED Plugin" caused an exception and is being disabled.
21:24:15.2 31.05.2009: Method 'GameEx.Plugin.Event_CommandLine' not found.
21:24:15.9 31.05.2009: at System.RuntimeType.InvokeMember(String name, BindingFlags bindingFlags, Binder binder, Object target, Object[] providedArgs, ParameterModifier[] modifiers, CultureInfo culture, String[] namedParams)
21:24:15.9 31.05.2009: at w.a(Object A_0, String A_1, a A_2, Double A_3)
21:24:15.9 31.05.2009: at w.c(String A_0)

I am no software expert at all, but could it be something country/language-related, as the other user with the same problem

has also a German Windows version running ( thinking of path names or different directory names )
