Hi,

I'm using gameex on my cab with mame32UI without problem, I have a pretty good understanding of gameex (for a poor french user  )

I would like to use the good old mame too see if it improve performance on my poor rig.

the only thing I've done is to change the exe from "mame32.exe" to "mamepp.exe" but it doesn't work!

when I restart, gameex want to update the game list and don't found any game...

I've got another stupid question: what are the file that gameex use to make the gamelist? mameinfo.dat? history.dat? another file?

thank for your help.

mamepp.exe is the Intel Pentium Pro optimized build. Make sure you are running an that setup or it will likely give you problems. I personally used the actual vanilla build (non-optimized) and it worked fine. At this point, I compile my own custom version based on the MAME source via HK's MAME compiler.

Why? Why am I so stupid... <_<

I will try the normal version and let you know the result.

I should try to compile my own mame one day, but I'm too lazy for that... :P

Thanks for your help.

No need to blame it on being lazy. HK's compiler makes it so simple you could continue to be lazy AND have a custom built MAME as well. :D

I've just tested whit the normal version of mame 0.131 and it still doesn't work!

When I update the list there is no game!

Everything was working fine with the mame32UI...

I repeat my question of the first post:

EDIT: AARRGGHH!!! and now I don't have any game whit MAME32UI no more!

I'm missing something but what?

Mame itself generates its own game list. There is a command line swich for that. Gameex does this, after that it verifys mames gamelist againset the actual roms you have along with any other filters you add.

When is the last time you updated your rom set?

Can you explain this in a easier way to understand? my english is not so good...

in this part: "after that it verifys mames gamelist againset the actual roms you have along with any other filters you add"

What does it means? what are these files?

Sorry for my poor understanding. :(

I have deleted the file "listinfo.dat" then restarted gameex and updated the list, now with mame32UI everything work, all game are present and playable.

So I decided to switch to vanilla mame in the gameex configuration (just changed the path to the .exe), I've deleted the "listinfo.dat" again, but when I update the list in gameex there is no game! (there is no new "listinfo.dat" into my mame directory when I go back to windows also)

This drive me crazy!

Have you any idea of the thing I am missing?
