Update loop

Hello,

I have a problem, GameEx seems to be stuck in an update loop.

Gamex starts up and auto updates, restarts then auto updates etc.

Trying a manual full install.

Any ideas

The full install worked, anyone have any ideas why the auto update didnt work?

Is there an install/update log?

I just got that issue, and I think it's because I was running GameEx without using the installer. (I just copied the gameex folder from another PC and put it in d:\gameEx)

When the autoupdate kicked in, it created to registry entries, and one of them was an installpath to C:\Program Files that I wasn't using.

So when the update finished, my GameEx was restarted from the old location, which of course wasn't updated and it notified me an updated was available, and so on.

This does seem to happen from time to time. I had this happen a few versions ago for some reason. It had been working fine for dozens of versions prior to that point and, after manually installing the update, it's been working flawlessly since then. Not sure what caused the issue, but it doesn't seem to be something that sticks around chronically.

It hasnt worked for me in a while, but I think its because I use HK's SF bezels and have them set to Read Only and I dont think GameEx knows what to do when it gets to that file since it can't write over it. But manual install is just as tedious as recopying the bezels over everytime...
