Hi all, nearly finished my GameEx install but have one problem.

The database for the playstation one isn't working or showing it's information. If i use another consoles data base things work as they should. When i have the emu set for the play station data base i only get "change view, back, home and exit" across the top of the emu page as options. Non of the "by categoey" etc shows up. I've looked in the database and my iso, bin etc match names in the data base so shouldn't be a problem there.

Am i missing something obvious? I don't see anything i've not set, as it works if i set it to use the N64 database instead.

Now my question thats non database related.

Is there a way to set individual pages to start in a prefered view? For example jukebox page starting with thumbs showing and videos page set as a list view.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It could be your ISO images do not match the games names in the database.

Thats the first thing i thought of so i opened the database up in MS Access to see if any names matched. Not all of them do but a fair few do.

Woo I found a solution, not perfect but hey it works so i'm happy.

I copied the PS1's database renamed and filled the "GoodName" fields for the Roms i've got.

Still odd that it never worked even with file names matching.

You have to have one of the 3 name fields matching (nointro, goodname, TOSEC) for things to match. The other name field is what GameEx displays the game as. Correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK GameEx only searches those 3 fields for a match. If it can't find one, it just displays the filename with no info (since it's not linked to a database item).

Ah so the PS1 data base isn't anywhere finished then all the that data base has in those fields is 11 in "GoodNames" and 5 in the "NoIntro".

Could i have got an incomplete version of that database with the install?? (I'm on 10.06)

I'd thought, obviously wrongly that if the Name field matched one of my file names it would show the info.

But at least in the future I know something else to look at now so it's all good in the end. Can't learn without fiddling about with different new stuff.
