ScummVM database list problem

Hi,

Got a problem with ScummVM

I'm using the ScummVM database to view the full name of the games instead of scummvm ID of the games in the Gamex list (Using Usedbname=True)

Problem is the game names are not matching with ID names in the info page of the game

for example

Flight of the amazon queen has id "queen"

The secret of monkey island has id "monkey"

So on game ex rom list , flight of the amazon queen is displayed in first, then the secret of monkey island in second (in alpha order, normal)

but when i select a game( for example the secret of monkey island) and i go on the info page, the games are inverted (i see the info of flight of the amazon queen )and it launch the wrong one too

I think it's perhaps it uses the rom name in the info page, then monkey is before queen in alpha and there is a problem matching

Does someone have the same problem or a solution???

Holy crap... I thought I was the only one having that problem!

I love gameex but when you do the updates, sooner or later things that were working great no longer work so great. A prime example was with being able to unzip cd images and mount them back around the 9.7 time frame. I know this problem has been fixed but it wasn't until I spent hours unzipping them manually.

Back on topic though, I've noticed the same problem. One or two games match properly, but I would say a good portion of them are off, and its not a set amount off. Example would be choosing a game, i.e. monkey, once selected, it would show the game listed 2 below that in the database. Choose a different game and it would display the game 5 spots below that. I'm not sure if I'm doing a good job explaining this...

I disabled the database, and the selected games work as they should (with the exception of game information), but after 30 minutes of pure frustration, I've given up on trying to figure out the problem. This is a recent issue as I know the last time I used Scumm was probably around the 10 or 10.02 release. I'll post a config when I get home but nothing has changed in my configuration, so I really think it has to do with the database or something with the programming?

I've had some head scratchers in the past year, but this one is one of strangest yet.

I think the only solution is to edit the database and rename the entries to match the rom fullname

in my example, entry one of the database has to be flight of the amazon queen and entry two secret of monkey island

1 Flight of the Amazon Queen id queen

2 The secret Of Monkey Island ID MONKEY

Then the order displayed by gameex list match the number in the database

To resume, the order of the games names displayed by Gameex has to be copied to the database

I assume i will have to save the modified database to a safe place or it will be overwrited in the future updates i think

Perhaps cheking the read only propertie on this file could be enough to keep it with updates???

I'm not quite sure, haven't spent much more than the initial 30 minutes on this last week, but will have to give it a shot this week. Just curious as to why it would have changed all of a sudden.

But you may be right regarding the read only properties, but did the actual database change last update? For some reason, I don' t think the database is the actual problem.

If you are able to fix this, would you mind uploading the database or something?

Can you try deleting the .dbcache, .dbcacheini, and .map files for the emulator in question.

If there is still a problem, please post those files (zip up first).

Ok i've deleted the files you have mentioned, Tom, with no results, it doesn't change anything, the problem is still here.

So i've uploaded the files and i have included my scummvm database which is quite modified to suit my games, if you need it
