hi all can anyone tell me how to create snaps becouse the create snaps doesnt show up in gameex and it is enabled thanks

I've had that problem twice on two separate machines.

Tempest did a lot to help -- but in the end it couldn't be resolved.

I had to blast away the Gameex directory entirely and reinstall to a new location to get the create snaps back.

Are there any other ideas? I have completely reinstalled Windows, then GameEx. But still no snap option :(

I found this in the FAQ:

Q: I heard there was a way to create snap shots of my emulator games, but I don't see the option.

A: To make the create snaps menu show up, temporarily disable and not use a database for the emulator.

I don't know if it still applies, or not.

Edit: I also found this:

I installed 5.81 last night and went through the GUI config to set the appropriate game database for each applicable emulator. I now no longer see the Create Snaps menu item for those emulators linked to databases. I didn't see a database for Playstation games so I left the databse field blank. I do see Create Snaps under Playstation. Is this a known issue or could it be tied to the theme I'm using?

hi,

It's actually deliberatly coded that way. The reason being so that there is a lot more screen real estate to show snaps and artwork when using a database. So it's actually by design rather than an issue. To be honest the Create Snaps option is only needed for computer games and less popular consoles that don't have databases anyway. Most snaps have already been done by folks to a high quality and you can just download them. Theres even videos for a lot of systems now too.

See my links and extras page for links to these files.

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately, the option is still not there, no matter what I do. Here is my Amstrad CPC configuration, maybe I overlooked something?

A bit off topic but I great program to take amazing video and snaps is fraps (http://www.fraps.com/). I have too many systems on my arcade which are not yet available at emumovies, especially @ 640x480. In addition to this, I have my cabinet set up to show the video preview in the background so anything less than 640x480 just looks bad. For me, recording 640x480 video and having higher res titles is awesome. The only downside to this is that after to take a screen shot, you would have to go back and rename the file to match the game, minor inconvenience if you ask me. If you don't mind forking over $38 for the registered version, I would highly recommend it.

yeh joe when doing over a few games that's fine but when hammering out over 1000+ is a total micky take. Fraps isnt that good.
