Hello All,

I have just rebuilt my game box and upgrade OS to XP64. I beleive I have everything re-setup and installed correctly but when GameEX trys to enter Screensaver/Attract mode I get the following error in the log.

Any ideas, have I forgotten to reinstall something?

I think someone posted with a similar problem last week. The solution was that they hadn't set any emulators to play in attract mode. I hope this helps... I'm about two wrong answers from losing my commission this month. :(

The GameEX config file hasnt changed, so all the emulators/mame etc that were setup are still set to run in attract mode. The ONLY thing thats change is fresh install of windows. :D

I have DVDs playing through VLC so I guessing the problem lays with media player or something to do with dot net?

Just updating the update...

I have monitored gameex using MS Filemon and I cant see gameex calling the emulators. The only failure was nv4_disp.dll missing. Which I believe is a NVidia driver file?

The "{02BC8527-BAFA-4A81-9617-4460CEF0F6C7}" CLSID is the dvdcore.GeneralEngine. That means the dvdcore.dll is not registered. Installing GameEx again would solve that, or you can run the command prompt inside "Program Files (x86)\GameEx" and enter

regsvr32 dvdcore.dll

Thanks..

That worked for both problems... Why does the attract mode require dvdcore.dll..?

Just wondering :D
