No its high def .... lol seriously

Im running at 1024 res though as if its any higher it gets hard to touch things on it ...

Its used for many things such as juke box mode and giving info on games running and hopefully more later on. I haven't worked to much with the software yet but now that we can use custom menus on game ex ill be trying my hand at moving the menus on to the second screen on the cp so you you can touch and play hopefully. We will ahve to wait and see. I dont think any thing like this has been attempted before. There are two screen arcade systems but not like this.

For more info on how im building this and more updates ive posted a log of the build over here -> http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=88461.0

You can ask questions on there and ill answer them for you.

Just got my 1/2 bugged camera back so here some photos of the cp so far. Hopefully there a little better.

If fitted some more stuff but there is still a lot more work to do.

Now you know if you post this at BYOAC that one of the first comments will be "what's with the dust covers on top of the CP?" ;)

Looks nice! Are those ball tops LED?

Posted

Its on BYOAC hehe has been from the start of the build.

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=88461.0

Now i was considering doing leds in the ball tops but to be real honest i think its fairly pointless. Ive been spending a few days working on the cp now and to be im not happy with it. haha

Im thinking i have built it all wrong and it just does not feel right in my eye. I should have built it in two parts on the inside with a separate section for the CP and the Keyboard. All so the LCD section doesn't look as good as it could have been.

So what i might do once its all complete is re do the CP section and make it more rounded and in 2 separate sections. I don't know if most people feel like this once they built these things from the ground up or what.

Im all so still waiting for the frame to come back from the painter so that i can crack on with the rest of the build. hehe

It looks pretty good to me. I think once it's installed an you have graphics on it you will see it completely differently. Since it's already put together, I'd just install it so you can at least get an idea of how to improve it for next time. The nice thing about your setup is that the CP can be removed and completely changed without affecting anything else!

Yeh that's why i designed it so that you can slip it on and off hehe. I suppose your right ill wait till the frame comes back. My lasses face dropped today when i suddenly pooped out and said hmm not to sure ... Its like i was saying to her i was leaving lol ...

The Frame is back and i very happy with it. I can now start to crack on with the other bits that need doing. Here is a few PIcs in the state of play its in now any way.

This is the PC shelf installed and ready to go. as you can see it comes out quite far giving enough room to work on it. It can all so detach and allow the pc to be moved else ware to be worked on. All so close up pics of some of the controls with in the cp. There is still the wiring to do yet but that will be done later on ....

That's all for today. I need to know work on the back box and its going to take some time.

It really is coming along nicely... I'm real excited to see how that second screen works out for you. It may revolutionize the home arcade if it does what it's supposed to. ;)

The frame is turning out to look snazzy now. I wasn't convinced it would have a good look to start.

Now after cleaning up the joints and a nice paint job it has a real look to it. I think the white was a great choice.

that is unreal... love it:) should look mad when your finished! like said its like a work of art....

Learning the basics of etching and working on some plastic just to test out my bad skills. ive never done anything like this before so i just jumped in with both feet and made my own dremmel holder and spent 20min testing out my skills .. My god does your arm feel like it's just gone 10 round with some woman's (some men's in today's climate as well) favourite toy ......

p.s I feel my tennis elbow come back very soon !!!!!

This is a very fast dirty test to check out lighting on the alien designs. Just to see what it would look like. I can see the 3mm led's really are not enough to light up a full panel so ill have to try out some 5mm led's next to see what effect they will have.

The 3mm btw have been drilled into the plastic but like all things that come from Hong Kong only 1/2 of them work lol ....

So i need to do more work lol .. still not good enough lol ... that's life. I have a play around some more.
