I have tried to adjust the settings in karaokeforDx but it seems to ig nore them. The words are stretching outside the screen. any ideas how to fix this?

What's the resolution of your screen? Also what size is the text being set to in the Text and Font tab in the Karaoke for DirectX Properties?

Have you tried to changing the aspect in GameEx? ie pressing Enter?
