need help from a pro

hey guys, i have just finished installing my arcade screen. All took me a long time to figure out how to adjust all the res so it didnt make the screen sound like it was going to blow up!!!

My question is, ok.. I get into gameEx select my game, it opens fine, display looks great, all in fullscreen... and about 3 secons after starting it and maybe playing it it stops letting you use the controll stick, and all buttons dont work! the game will continue to run, and you can see it slow up a lot, and then you have to pull the draw out and fight the game to escape it with the controll alt delete deal!!! so its not actually the ipac loosing conection or faulting!

it seems to happen less when i have the game run in a window but hey thats not arcade like is it! And it doesnt happen in any of the mortal kombat street fighter games.. its a realll pain in the ass!! and is driving me nuts... the games run fine on my laptop so i know its not the rom its self that is bad!!!

please it maybe something simple, but i am out of ideas, and am getting real put off the whole buld up of the cab!!! to think about it , its only started doing this crap since i changed it all from lcd creen to arcade monitor!! but i cant see how that could have anything to do with the controlls of the games its self!!!

This issue happens with all your emulators? Can you use the stick in the GameEx menu? By fighting it to exit, you mean the keyboard doesn't work either?

Perhaps you might want to post the log file when this happens? I don't use an IPAC so I'm taking a few shots in the dark here.

What game(s) are you talking about? If you are talking about the modern ones (Seattle based titles like NFL Blitz), these games take a monster machine to emulate. I don't think I've had a problem with the system locking up like you described though. On the other hand, since I know they won't play right, I don't ever load them

Perhaps you could post a log file from when you experience this problem. It wouldn't hurt to include the runitgame.bat file either.

a log file? Im not sure if it creats a log error report for this issue! Once i get out of the games it self an back into gameEx everything works fine! up down all the keys work! some of the games that fail are (miss world)

armed police batrider, blood storm, blast off,paradise,P.O.W ,time killers,waterballs, and alot more.... yes it only happens in mame it has not happened at all in my N64 Emulator or the megadrive emulator. so it has to be something..

Logs are created automatically when GameEx is launched. Run GameEx and duplicate the steps you have before where this issue occurs. Then browse to the LOG directory of your GameEx install and post the contents of the log.txt file.

i checked the log file, and it all looks ok! i think anyway, i will pasted it over and see what you think.

hey guys, well i just installed a new better video card and some how.... i dont know how, but the problems with the controll freezing up has gone and every single game now works correctly! YAY, hahaha macines that have so many settings and not just how to say read only are a hand full to keep the way you want...

im kinda gugged cause the arcade screen i got is only a 21" and it looks so small to my mortal kombat 2 machine, but hey its heaps better looking at native res than a flat lcd dcreen with yucky pixles and stretching ect ect ect....
