The installation of WMP should be optional, perhaps with a <skip> button.

I can't install 5.12 now because GameEx wants to install WMP9 and I have WMP10 so I can't do that.

GameEx should detect if WMP10 and automatically skip. I run WMP10 on a couple of machines. Not sure whats going on with your system. Did something happen to your WMP10 installation? Did MS release a new version or something? If not perhaps try a reinstall or repair of WMP10. As I said GameEx should detect if WMP10 is installed and not ask you to download 9.

It's very weird since I've never had any problems with previous versions of GameEx.

I guess that you have added this feature to the installation in the latest version.

Still, I think it would be better if you could choose to install WMP manually instead. Just give the users a "heads up" about needing it.

No, its not changed in the latest version. It has to be your PC setup. You can install WMP manually, GameEx detects if its installed, and wont prompt you, so it really makes no odds, if you understand what I am saying?

GameEx does not work properly or will not install properly if WMP is not installed. If I make it manual, GameEx wont work properly if its not installed, and users will find it harder, need more support, and may even give up on the product just cause they dont understand. Sorry, I dont agree at all, hopefully I've explained why.

To hopefully make this clear. The above quote. On your PC its not working for some reason, for everyone else its working. If 9 or 10 is previously manually installed - GameEx should just install and not ask you to download wmp9. This logic has been in GameEx for months, I've not changed it, at least intentionally. Did you try reinstalling wmp 10 manually?

I understand your reasons fully. And I'm glad if this gives people less reason to hassle you with stupid questions (they could at least read the system requirements before starting threads) because this means that you work on more important issues.

The weird thing is that I've never had ANY problems installing GameEx before and just wanted to make sure that you hadn't changed anything before trying to reinstall WMP myself. As GameEx is running without problems on my system, WMP should be working, right? I have chosen to install the light version (only for games) the whole time, and now I didn't get to that option so I just wanna know for sure that you haven't changed the order of things to get installed or stopped supporting the light installations?

Edit: Just reinstalled WMP 10 manually and GameEx installed without problems. My bad.
