Hi,

I've come back to using GAMEEX after using the same setup for some time. I have updated to latest version and all still works well..

Although I would like to know if there is a way to do the following;

1) Is there a way to list Music tracks (Jukebox?) via Folders / Files and not MP3 info

2) Is there a way to list multiple locations for Videos - so I can have two seperate VIDEO Menu selections linking to different Hard Drives (as my vids are split over two drives)

3) Is there a way to default the Music List to say GENRE

4) Is there a way to place the Video/Pictures/Music as seperate menu items on the main START page?

5) Is there a way to change the GAME IS LOADING Page for each different emulator? I couldn't find a setting for this only for the backemu screen.

6) Why is it that the first line of my menu (currently ALL GAMES) on the start page does not show the icon unless you move down then back up - all other icons show as they should?

7) Remove ALL GAMES selection from the Emulators Menu (not the MAME ALL GAMES, this is at the top of the Emulators Screen)

Many Thanks,

Neil

As far as I'm concerned, this isn't possible in the Jukebox mode. You can turn on Media Library and browse through them that way, but then everything in your folder is listed (i.e. folder.png)

Separate your different entries with a semicolon (i.e. C:\Videos;D:\Videos)

It's an option in the setup wizard.

Others will be able to answer the rest of your questions.

Thanks. Here's what is left for me to get going before being totally happy with the setup;

(On another side track note, I have setup all my EMUS to exit with ESC (some are ALT+X) and use JoytoKey which works wonders, I never have to use a keyboard now LOL)

I also have an issue with the MAME Aspect Ratio on some games (Want it stretch to my Widescreen TV) but I believe this will be solved if I use MAME32.exe instead of MAME32UI.exe as MAME32.exe has more options and is newer. I'll let you know how I get on.

Right here's my queries (last list hopefully):

1.) How Do I add extra buttons for the GameEx menu. So I can use Buttons 1 & 2 for Select and 3 & 4 for BACK

2.) Same thing as 1 but I want to use my HAT Switch on my joystick (eg: D-PAD) to control GameEx menu as well. It currently uses ther normal joystick on my XBOx wireless joypad. (eg: Has 2 Hoysticks, Left and Right and D-Pad with 10 Buttons - idea for never get off the sofa!! hehe)

3.) My DivX videos are playing in their original format whereas a normal AVI file (DVD) is playing full screen - how can I change the aspect for the DivX so they are stretched to full screen (full aspect)

4.) Is there a way to play Music whilst viewing Photos automatically? So a particular photo album plays a particular song whilst Slideshowing the pictures?

5.) Same question but ALL GAMES is shown on the Emulators screen/list at the top - is there wa way to remove this, I couldn't find it in the config?

6.) I now have my Music listed as Albums by File/Folders but is there a way to default to GENRE View?

7.) Is there a way to place the Video/Pictures/Music (Multimedia) as seperate menu items on the main START page?

Right, that should be all my little niggles I'm having....

I would appreciate any help - even from Tom...

Thanks,

Neil

You can't use button combinations in GameEx menus. If you want to do that, your best bet is to use either XPadder (you could stick with JoyToKey as well, but XPadder is MUCH better) or an AHK script. I have a system set up that uses P2 Up + P2 Down for Escape, so it certainly can be done! Likewise for your hat switch, you would be best served using XPadder to remap your gamepad to send keyboard input. Set the DPad and analog stick to send arrow keys so you can use either.

It's at the bottom of section "Enabled/Disable Features (3)" of the Setup Wizard.

The wizard has a time saving feature that allows you to search all the options and jump right to that section of the wizard. If you launch the Setup Wizard and choose "Search" then punch in for example "All Games" then search, it'll tell you exactly where that option is listed. :)

Nope, it's not there!

Found on page 3 of both GameEx Configuration and GameEx Setup Wizard in the Enable\Disable Features. The option is the last option named Enable All Games List. You want to set it to No to hide. Fatone85 was correct as far as the location.

Are you using the current version of GameEx? Is it possible that this option was added/removed to/from the version you are using? I'm not at my cab so I can't verify what it looks like on my system, but a couple other users see it. Odd...

Oh, one other thing you could try. If you want, you could open up the gameex.ini file and find the entry for enabling/disabling that feature and set it there. You should be able to do it in the config app from what others have said, but those apps are just front ends for the ini. There's no reason you couldn't configure it manually if necessary. I'd suggest making a backup prior to messing with things manually though B)

i'll check the version when I get home but I downloaded it from the main GameEx site a few weeks ago at most (believe it was 9.89 or something like that)

That feature is new (less than a month), so it's possible that it could have been slightly changed in the last few weeks.

Damn, Tom's inbox is full!!!!
