I'm brand new at this and just registered so bear with me. On the main menus, I use a joystick to go up and down. Left mouse button used to invoke the highlighted line. I just installed the latest Gamex and my results are different. If I hit the left mouse button it always brings up the title bar at the top of the screen and never enters the highlighted line, only enters the cursor location if this is on the screen. I now have to press the center mouse button to select the highlighted line. In windows, the mouse works correctly which leads me to think I must have messed up something with the configuration.

If I press the joystick to move up or down a line, the title bar disappears, like the titlebars in windows do.

I'm not real good at forums, I looked for something similiar to this but could not find anything.

I just purchased a used machine based on ipac, the mouse works fine in windows so I don't think it is hardware. IS there a setting to auto hide the task bar and could something have got messed up with it.

Thanks

Sounds like you might have touch screen support turned on perhaps?

touch screen support in configuration is no. thanks for the speedy reply. Should I try turning it on?

Are you saying left mouse buttion used to select the highlighted line, even if the mouse cursor was not over the selected line? GameEx is not meant to do this by default. What might have happened is you had custom keyboard controls turned on and the the keycode for select set as the mouse button. Im a little confused though, why use a joystick and a mouse, why not just use the joystick, or just use the mouse?

Let me try and clear this up. I prefer to use the joystick and the mouse buttons, that's the way I got the machine. If I use the joystick, the top bar disappears and you can go up and down and sideways and the various items on the screen get highlighted. The way it used to work was I would highlight via the joystick and then press the left mouse button. The highlighted field would be invoked even though there is no cursor on the screen. The cursor disappears when I use the joystiick Now the process is the same except the left mouse button brings up the top bar and that's it. I do not use the trackball to move around the main screens, use it for configuration, etc.

The process works if I use the trackball cursor, pressing the left mouse button works ok, entering the item that the cursor is on.

My concern is did I screw something else up?

Like I said GameEx does not do that by default, so when you had it working it was something configured differently. If you want the left mouse button to act as the select control, yourll need to configure the custom keyboard controls, so select is the left mouse button.

You can make the taskbar always show or hide it in the config. Although for some themes this is force set in theme.ini
