Is there a command I can use other than the standard neoraine32.exe [RomPath]\[RomFile]??

I ask because doing it this way, all gameex is doing, is loading the emulator and thats it. Any game has to be loaded manually

I saw there was a -nogui command, but that doesn't work. Any suggestions? This is version 1.2.2 btw.

You're rom location needs to be set in quotes.

neoraine32.exe -nogui "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

Right.

I've left the command line the way it is - that is if you were adding an emulator to your list. When I do this, it just loads the emulator, thats it.

When I add the -nogui, it acts as if it loads it, then after about 3-5 seconds, its back into gameex.

I wonder if its because of the zip files and it needs to go to the 7 unzipped directory instead.. I guess what I was really trying to get at is if anyone else is having this issue.

Frequency - Are your games zipped?

That shouldn't matter really as long as you have 7zip turned on of course so that GameEx will load the game. Make sure your filters are set to include cue files. If loading with out the -nogui then it should run the rom but will require you to press enter to run the game. Adding the -nogui setting will work but must make sure your settings are correct. Post your config for me to see before any changes. Also post your raine32_sdl.cfg file as well so I can take a look and we can get it going cuz it works fine on my end.

In the raine32_sdl.cfg change this setting from:

auto_mode_change = 0

To:

auto_mode_change = 1

Well I tried and had no success. If I use -nogui, it closes out of gameex, loads neoraine, then goes back into gamex. If I don't use -nogui, it just loads the emulator, and I have to click on load game.

Seems a bit odd considering that was the only difference between ours. I guess I'll keep at it.

For testing purposes, try it with an unzipped image. Just use the command-line and then we'll worry about getting it working in GameEx. Has to be something simple as It's running fine on my end. Let me test in GameEx as I don't use this emulator.

Ok after testing I found that I'm unable to run in GameEx as well using zip support. I can run fine without it. Sorry for assuming it would work. Didn't test in GameEx since don't use this emulator for Neo-Geo CD. I use Nebula. I'll do some more tests to see what I come up with.

Edit:

Seems like it's not unzipping all the files before the emulator loads which is why it's not loading the rom. Visitor Q had an issues like this before and Brian Hoffman had created a script to have it wait till it was finished. I'll have Tom take a look at this.

Ahhh Frequency, you are the man! So possible Gamex issue ehh??

Looks like I have a bit of unzipping to do now :(

Tom has been informed and will look into it when he gets a chance. For the time being the only solution would be to either script something to handle loading the emu after all contents have been unzipped or to unzip them.

Because of this, I figured I would give my other emulators a shot as well.. They all seem to be fine but I did notice that it appears that Sega CD w/ FUSION also has the same problem. For some reason, when you have the files zipped and the emulator is reading the .iso / .cue file (rather than a virtual drive) it doesn't load.

If you are running Fusion for Sega CD, give it a shot.. The only way I have gotten it to work was by unzipping the files. This is obviously something to do with the latest release of game ex.

These issues were discussed here and solved with a script. Tom will have to look into it.
