Favorites List Strangeness

Greetings all. My favorites list is acting up and I hope to find a fix of some kind. I searched through the forum, but didn't find anything similar.

I have two games in my Favorites. For expediency, lets just call them 'Game A' and 'Game B'. They are both for the same emulated system (not MAME). When GameEx first starts, and I go into Favorites, 'Game B' is listed but 'Game A' is not displayed. I can make 'Game A' display in the list either by selecting one of the sorting modifiers on the top of the screen (Name, Category, etc) or by backing out of the Favorites menu, opening Emulated Games, opening the list of games for this particular system, backing out to the main menu yet again and opening the Favorites menu.

Why would that game be hidden from the list initially? Is there a database of favorites that got corrupted? Something else? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hello again. I'm still struggling with this. I've updated to the newest version and deleted all the game cache to have the lists rebuilt and still no good.

To be more specific, I have these 3 games in my favorites right now:

Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow

Castlevania - Harmony of Dissonance

Final Fantasy I & II - Dawn of Souls

When I go into my favorites when GameEx is first launched, the only game listed is Aria of Sorrow. I have to do the steps listed in my first post to get the other two games to appear.

I'm assuming you can have more than one favorite game by default, right?

Can you add a MAME game to your favorites to see if that makes things better? GameEx was originally designed to be a MAME front end and almost all other features were added with time. I'm wondering if the favorites list works better when it has at least one MAME title in there.

Actually, I have MAME disabled in GameEx because I wasn't planning on using that emulator. Maybe that's causing some bugginess.

Possibly. You can always include MAME to see if that helps. Tom always wants to get bugs fixed, so if you can help figure out what is causing this problem, then he would certainly use your findings.

Where are non-MAME favorites stored? In DATA.MDB?

I looked a while back, but didn't find them. I have a few more in my list now, so perhaps I can figure it out at this point. I would start by looking in data.mdb though.
