mame games won't open in gameex

Brand new here,

I have set up mame in gameex and all the paths seem to work. I select a game in mame through gameex and the screen turns black. The mame emulater is loading in an external window but not from gameex. any ideas on how to make it pop up in gameex instead? Thank you so much!

So then it plays just fine? If it runs with the batch file, I'm not sure why it wouldn't run from GameEx since it's the exact same commands.

Then the hourglass flashes for about a half second. then nothing. I hit escape and it takes me back to the games menu where i can select it. I have noticed though that the game IS openening but it is opening behind gameex's black screen and in a small box about one forth the size of my monitor.

Maybe has to do with the resolution you're setting from command-line? Try removing that option just to test.

hmm. After 2 weeks of this not working. and not changing anything. It is magically working now.... I thought it had to do with resolution too. I guess something was just being weird. I have NO clue why it is working now but it is. Ill write back if anyhitng else changes. As for now I guess Im good .... hmm.

You might want to make a backup of your MAME settings while it's working. That way if something breaks, you have a reference to some known working config. At least then you might have an idea of what's changed to get you started in the right direction!
