Inactivity Timer

What this app does. Waits the specified amount of time (in minutes) then closes any running processes(specified) after in-activity.

Why would you want this app? Lets say you have a MAME cab and a person starts a game and walks away.. Normally the game stays playing (forever). With this app it will close the emulator proceess after X amount of in-activity time. Thus bringing you back to the FE.

Download the Timer.zip

Extract the archive anywhere. Id copy the files into your FE root directory.

Edit the Watcher.INI , In the INI you can adjust the TIMER (in minutes) and in the emulators section add the process name to listen for. Eg.. MAME you do not need to add the file extention.. EG do not use MAME.exe

Currently this will work for MOST but not ALL users. This app will hook only mouse and keystrokes.. So if your using a gamepad this app is not reccommended as you will exit your game un-intentionally.

You can choose to run the app at startup by configuring gameex.

That would be great!!!!!!!!! I will add a read me and reattach. This is a very requested feature. Ive written a couple of these before but not quite like this. It would be a great addition to gameex and another first feature wise I believe.

Sounds like a pretty simple addition to GameEx that would be really nice to have. I've seen this happen quite often on my cab. Btw, if this is implemented, will you make it work with all emulators? Will there be an option in the emulator to have it work or not? Either way, sounds good!

I like the global idea. It wouldn't (shouldn't) be too hard to accomplish. As far as the REG feature its a must. Especially considering the commertial aspect of gameex. I think your vendors that use Gameex commertially would like to see thier product being advertized once a user leaves thier game and is no longer in front of the console that it goes back to the vendor stamped fe.

Go for it! Once its done if you would like I can pull the app I wrote to ensure that your method is the one that is used. Considering it would be better as it would support game pads.
