Hello Gents,

Just a head's up, MAME 129 is out. Remember the best version to use with GameEx is the MAME 0.129 Windows command-line binary.

Get it and all MAME info here... http://mamedev.org/release.html

Now is a very good time to consider recompiling it and adding in Hi-Score support for the new GameEx Hi-Score options.

Looks like they made a ton of changes to the code, and dumped a lot of 'old' code according to the what's new text. I haven't tried the laser disc support, nor do I see any change in anything I play (mostly old skool games). Maybe it effects the newer stuff? But anyway, like you mentioned, it seems stable so far.

After 10 years, these guys are still going... that's an accomplishment by any standard.

The way I look at it is that we are all enthusiasts, and we are just sitting at a big table (Named Earth) shooting the breeze. If the breeze blows this way one day, and then that way the next, so be it...

I also know that other people wish that everything would stay on topic, to make it easier to find answers in the forums without having to wade through the B.S...

The problem is that both sides are right, so what to do?

I will tell you this, I feel like I have made some friends here, and I sincerely enjoy the time that I spend here...
