help- no games found

I am getting "no games found" when trying to start mame. I tried the "update list" option, but I am not sure I am doing it correctly. When I update list, I get a self extracting archive with the path to my mame - e:/arcade/mame I clicked ok, it extracts a MameUI folder with all the mame folders/application in it. Thinking that maybe the GameEx is searching for roms in this newly created folder (e:/arcade/mame/MameUi) I through a few roms in there (e:/arcade/mame/MameUi/roms) with no success.

Without even going into the log yet, can I make a suggestion? Dump MAME32 for the Windows command line version of MAME. MAME32 is a GUI version of MAME, it's not pure MAME. What you are doing is running a GUI inside of a GUI. You're going to have conflicts as a few members have found out.
