Cliffhanger help

I recently upgraded my Daphne Cliffhanger to the 'restored' version. Every time I try to run it in GameEX it goes into service mode, but if I run it from DaphneLoader it plays fine. Can someone help me out?

I haven't verified this, but I think Tom sends keys to daphne... possibly "O" "K", and almost definately {Enter}. Does one of those keys put it into service mode? Either way, try changing the input code for "Service Mode" to something else, either by using Daphne loader, or in dainput.txt. I'm not with Daphne right now, but hopefully that's close enough to get you going...

I am pretty sure GameEx only sends 'okokokokok{enter}' for MAME. I don't think that is sent for Daphne, but I could be wrong. I've only played with the laser disc stuff a bit (nowhere near enough to call myself knowledgeable). Check the "Run Last Game.bat" file in the GameEx Start menu to see what command line GameEx is using. Compare that to what DaphneLoader is using and report back.

{Enter} is the key that Iview uses to go fullscreen, and when Daphne is used, it messes with an open window of Iview. It doesn't matter to me now, because I changed the way I'm doing things (For the 4th time), but I'm pretty sure that GameEx does send keys to Daphne...

I don't see GameEX sending anything out of the ordinary when launching Cliffhanger. I tried setting Daphneloader service-mode button to one of the function keys and it still loads to the service menu. I can eventually exit out of the service menu by hitting a key or two (haven't figured out what actually exits I just hit buttons)

Figured it out, this was my Daphne command line in GameEX

vldp -fullscreen -x 640 -y 480 -nohwaccel -useoverlaysb 1 -bank 0 10011001 -bank 1 01100011

Seems Cliffhanger didn't like the -useoverlays command, took that out and it works fine now.
