Im using OSWAN 0.7. I'm unable to load a rom using the command line. It always brings up the gui where you can select the rom and options. Does this emu require a loader?

I haven't used oswan in a long time but I remember there being 2 different ones. The one you're referring to didn't have a CLI that I could remember. I know there was a hacked version out there for this version that gave it a CLI. There's another version 1.7.3 that did have one. I suggest updating or maybe giving mednafen a try. It's what I've been using since I stopped using oswan. I could be wrong about this so don't hold me to it. ;)

Thanks for the reply. I just finished updating to 1.7.3. That seems to fix my issue. However my current rom set didn't seem to work very well. Very few games would actually boot. I'm going to give the no intro set a go.

Slightly off-topic, but I tend to use Mess for all emulators, unless I am unhappy with the quality of emulation offered for a particular system.

Wonderswan (colour and B&W) works well (apart from some sound issues) and is very easy to run from GameEx.

If Oswan so much better? Perhaps I need educating!

I do use Mednafen for a lot of other systems, and I belive that also supports wonderswan, though have no idea on the emulation quality.

Maybe I should switch. I'm still having issues. Games do not want to boot. I get maybe one out of every 10 I try.

Mess works with everything but does have sound issues..

Have no idea about Mednafen, though it is great with other systems!

Mednafen works pretty well. It's what I'm using currently. Although I can't vouch on compatibility for it as I've only played a few games. But those games did run without any issues. I highly recommend mednafen.
