Hi all 1st post here,

Can GameEx export games lists to TXT files? And if so, how?!

I tried through MAME as well but couldn't find it anywhere.

Thanks

What are you trying to do? If you want a list of rom names or names of games or whatever, you can use RomLister. It allows you to filter the list by controls, screen orientation, etc.

You can get the list out of GameEx, but it will require parsing to use for anything. Check out "C:\Program Files\GameEx\DATA\gamelist.txt". This file contains a ton of info including rom names. I don't think this would be better than using a RomLister output though. Of course, I don't know what you are trying to do, so...

In short, I don't think so.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do, but if Mame is the only emulator that you want a text file for, you can use this from the command prompt:

cd "C:\Program Files\Mame0127" (Use your mame folder)

mame.exe -listfull >C:\List.txt (Use your Mame.exe)

Which will make a text file of all games called List.txt on C:\

If you only want games based on certain criteria, use Romlister.

Edit: Damn I'm slow!
